Sorrento - what's not to Love
Sorrento is one of the oldest holiday destinations in Australia, established in 1870 as a resort town for the Rich and Famous that we can now all share. The magnificent buildings exude grandeur of a bygone era, constructed of local limestone they sit proudly throughout the township and at the entrance - all flanked by other stately historic buildings. Multi award winning Hotel Sorrento was recently extended to make it a complete resort, it was originally built in 1872 and the multi award winning Continental Hotel built in 1875 has been recently resurrected, and both now take their place among some of the best historic buildings in Victoria. Both are examples of the phrase "spared no expense" . How. during original construction of these magnificent buildings did they manage the logistics with the builds escapes me.
A friend and I were discussing moving into a shop together to split costs, her with her branded "sister city" merchandise, and me with Beach Dogs and Sorrento branded Merchandise - something I had always thought about. Whilst the "sister city" Merchandise didn't go ahead at the time, I decided to move forward with Beach Dogs and Sorrento Merchandise online and went on to create businesses, websites, clothing design, fabric selection and sourcing manufacturers.
I wanted to do the absolute best I could, so everything from the fabrics and fastenings to the workmanship was carefully considered and heavily scrutinised - you have to kiss a lot of frogs.
It was only very recently I was made aware of an opportunity with &Independents to have some floor space in Morce Avenue - and that is where I am now. I have also created a high quality commercial range of clothing which I will be promoting in a month or so to bring high quality options to clubs and businesses.
All traders in &Independents are hoping that people find their way down to Morce Avenue to give us a look, I have new stock arriving through January and beyond - it is exciting times.
